If you know me, this post title would make you laugh 🙂
I’m not the most organized person in the world, and often my little condo falls into serious disarray a few short days after a big cleaning. This is something that has caused frustration not only to my mother during my teen years, but also with my Hubs– who is a clean freak!
I do try to put in effort at least once a week to straighten things up, but rarely do I perform a truly deep cleaning, like I did today! Washed the shower liner, scrubbed and put away dishes, dusted EVERY surface, washed windows, vacuumed all rooms, organized my entire wardrobe that was still laying on the floor after moving back from Seattle earlier this week… PHEW I’m seriously pooped.
AND I was seriously starving at the end (you know you can’t interrupt the cleaning groove once you’re finally in it!). So I needed sustenance, STAT.
When in a time (and belly) pinch, smoothies to the rescue!
So into the vitamix went: half a scoop of vanilla protein powder, a scoop of cocoa powder, an unpictured freezer-burned frozen banana, some freezer-burned frozen organic raspberries, a BIG couple handfuls of spinach, and plenty of vanilla unsweetened almond milk.
See the freezer burn? That bag of raspberries (and the bananas!) have been opened and in the freezer since the end of May. Still good, right?
All in a bowl topped with some TJ’s High Fiber cereal for crunch!
I didn’t realize the picture was blurry until I was finished with the bowl.
Before I sign off for the night, lets talk about some interesting links from around the web!
Extreme Couponing– the video on Jezebel is a news report about the extreme couponing ladies who’ve taken their hobby a touch too far. Apparently, some people are now dumpster diving and even STEALING newspapers in order to get their hands on more coupons. People are cuh-razy. I understand the urge or necessity to cut back and save money on grocery bills, but from the things I’ve seen and read, these people are often getting a lot of unnecessary items they may not have purchased in the first place.
Also, I just read about the new show they’re debuting on MTV called Chelsea Settles. It’s about a plus-sized girl who moves to LA to begin a new life, and hopefully get her foot in the door of the fashion industry. From the trailer, it looks like she’ll also be battling with her weight, and dealing with her mother’s illness as well. On the one hand, I think it’s great that the main ‘character’ of a reality show on MTV is a heavier girl. On the other, I wonder how the show will be edited in terms of focusing on her losing weight over other story lines. I sort of wish that an overweight person could be successful on a television series without having to lose weight as part of the plot.
Questions for you:
Do you use coupons? Do you think you will watch Chelsea Settles?
